I am Matthew Carson, making this campaign to help this young boy recover from a horrible injury. Read his story below.

My name is Mohammed Ibrahim. I am sixteen years old and I am from Gaza. I lived with my family in a simple home that was full of love, even though we had very little. We are a family of eight, my mother and father, three boys including myself, and three girls. Like any family in the world we dreamed of safety and a life of peace, but the war destroyed everything.

One day, while the planes were bombing homes, our house was directly hit. I saw everything we owned turn into rubble before my eyes. We lost our shelter, our clothes, and even the beds we slept on. We became displaced and began moving between schools, the streets, or the remains of broken buildings.

Although I am still young, I felt that I had a responsibility to help my family. I went to an aid distribution point to try to get food and water. On the way, there was an airstrike. I was struck by shrapnel in my body and fell to the ground wondering if I would live or die. At the hospital I spent days in pain thinking only about my family. I asked myself if they were safe and if they had eaten that day.

The days passed slowly and the pain stayed with me, not only in my body but in my heart. Every day we live with fear and uncertainty. We have no home, no income, and no clear future. My younger siblings ask me when we will return to our house, and I cannot give them an answer.

This is why I am sharing my story today. My family is in urgent need of help. We only want to live with dignity. We need food to eat, a mattress to keep us warm, and medicine when we are sick. Any amount you can give, whether small or large, will help us survive and continue.
