Abdullah’s family need support in Gaza

I set up this campaign to support Abdullah and his family who are in a unimaginably bad situation in the Gaza strip. They need support so they can attempt to meet some of their needs for things that we take for granted like food and clean water.

Abdullah is not English speaking nor has he had a social media account until recently so does not have the easy means to spread his story and get money his family desparately need to have a chnace to get their most basic needs met. Here is his message:

I am the 28-year-old citizen Abdullah, a resident of the Gaza Strip, and I live with my family of 8 members in a tent that burning hot from the early morning, after we lost our home and everything we have as a result of the recent bombing and aggression on the Strip.

We lived a simple and decent life, and I had a source of income from a simple shop I owned, in addition to a private car that helped me work and move. But in one moment, my house was demolished, my local was destroyed, my car was burned, and we had nothing left but pain and destruction.

All members of my family suffered various injuries due to the bombing, and their health condition is very poor. We also lost my brother due to the difficult living and humanitarian conditions we have been living in for years, and our suffering has increased my other brother’s cancer as a result of air pollution and chemicals released by the occupation in the atmosphere.

We live today without any source of income. Food prices are increasng all the time and much of the time food is not available or it’s too dangerous to travel to where there maybe some. Our children go hungry and our days are spent searching for food for our children. Some days we have none, most days we only find half a meal to share with difficulty. In light of the high prices we lack of the most basic elements of life. We can’t even secure flour or drinking water, and we rely on aid – if any – to fill our water.

Each week the situation here becomes more desparate. Flour this week cost 80 dollars for a kilo. We feel hopeless. Any gesture of support helps.

I send this message to you, asking God and then from you, that you do not forget us in these difficult circumstances, and to give us a helping hand as much as you can.
