We’re reaching out on behalf of Wala, a Sudanese refugee who has taken on the enormous responsibility of caring for her disabled mother after their evacuation. With no current income, she’s facing an impossible situation as her mother’s health deteriorates and medical costs mount. Wala’s mother is battling multiple serious health conditions:

Her mother has been experiencing severe stomach issues, and doctors suspect an ulcer that requires an endoscopy for proper diagnosis. This essential procedure, along with the necessary medications and ongoing treatment, is financially out of reach for this family who arrived with nothing and are still establishing themselves. As a refugee caring for a disabled family member, Wala faces unique challenges, she has Zero income while navigating a new healthcare system and is the sole caregiver
