My family and I are stuck in Gaza, where every day feels like a battle for survival, and the future seems more uncertain than ever. Genocide and relentless attacks have torn our world apart, and the displacement crisis has left us with nothing but fear and grief.

For eleven agonizing months, we have lived under the shadow of war—airstrikes, shelling, and destruction on all sides. We wake up each day unsure if we will ever see tomorrow. But amidst the wreckage, our greatest pain stems from seeing my mother suffer. Her heart problems, diabetes, and high blood pressure have become unbearable, especially with the severe shortage of medication. She is in constant pain, and every day without proper care feels like a countdown we cannot stop. My family members are: My father is Jamil. My mother is Iman. And my brother Alaa. My brother Khaled is married and has twin children. My sister Amani has two children. And my brother Ahmed. And my brother Qusai. There are four children in my family.

As for me, I lost everything—my home, my job, even the land beneath my feet. I am now homeless, trying to protect my family of seven, but Gaza has become an unbearable prison. We long to leave, to seek safety, and to provide the medical care my mother, who also has diabetes, desperately needs. But the costs of escape are beyond our means, and we have no refuge left.
