Healthcare is a human right and Australia prides itself as a country that provides free and informed healthcare. Unfortunately, this is not the reality people with complex health conditions are living as our public health system is chronically underfunded, resourced and under staffed.

S* is one person who is asking for help. S has been through multiple surgeries already while receiving limited community support. As a result of her disabilities and the poor response of our healthcare system to her medical complications of her disability, she lives in chronic pain and has been unable to access the medical and allied health support she needs to simply live. As you can imagine, this has also been of detriment to her mental health as she is unable to work to pay for her medical care but is also denied assistance accessing disability services.

This is why S and I are asking for your help today to cover the cost of two upcoming medical appointments ($450 and $300) and 1 month of medication ($100), totalling $850.

Attending these appointments is crucial to S receiving appropriate medical care, and by covering her medication cost for 1 month, S will also be able to purchase some much needed groceries.
