Hi, I’m Imogen, and I recently had my head shaved in the streets of Swindon while being force-fed, dragged, and “experimented on” as part of a piece of street theatre. It was intense, humiliating, and emotional—but nothing compared to what animals endure every single day behind the closed doors of UK laboratories.

This action was part of the FEAT campaign (Finally Ending Animal Testing), which is demanding an end to animal testing and asking MPs to support EDM 187 calling for a fair public scientific hearing judged by independent experts from the relevant science fields, to stop the false claims about human medicine which continue to fund animal testing. Right now, animals—including primates, dogs, mice and more—are being poisoned, cut open, blinded, and killed in the name of “science.” Much of this is funded by the Medical Research Council (MRC) here in Swindon, using your public money. www.feat-uk.co.uk

I did this to raise awareness—but also to raise funds for Justify, an inspiring organisation led by former animal research workers who now advocate for science rooted in compassion and transparency. Justify provides a safe and supportive space for people who have worked in labs and are grappling with the ethical realities of animal testing. They are uniquely placed to drive change — not just by exposing what happens behind closed doors, but by building bridges and pushing for alternatives that don’t involve suffering. I want the bravery shown by former lab workers to be met with tangible support, and your donation will help amplify their work, fuel their advocacy, and support others on their journey out of the system.
