Hello,
I’m Mohammed from northeast Gaza
I got married a year before the war and I was working as a science teacher
I gave birth to my first son during the war during the first famine, which forced me to move from northern Gaza to the south and then returned to the camps in the central Gaza Strip
During the truce, my family and I returned to my area and we tried to prepare places to live and provide water and livelihoods
With the renewed bombing and attacks on us, we had to move again, leave our luggage and tents and look for a place to take refuge again.
My son has lived his whole life in the war. He has lived through famine and displacement. I await when I can provide him with a good life
-Mohammed
5/29: Hello, The situation has unfortunately worsened for Mohammed and his family. The situation requires immediate evacuation as his son and wife face starvation. If you cannot donate, sharing this campaign is also helpful. We are in need of immigration resources as well for asylum seeking and processing. Thank you, Tim
Donations have been slow and unfortunately Rakan’s condition is worsening.
He is still suffering from the effects from severe malnutrition, skin rashes to losing muscle mass
In addition, Mohammed’s aunt is disabled, and they have no way to transport her other than to carry her.
We’re been in contact with several organizations at this point, and none have been able to offer assistance. So far, the only meaningful method of support has been this campaign, but donations have been far and few in between over the past 4 weeks.
Please share this campaign. Please dont stop speaking up for us.
Thank you again to everyone who has supported this campaign.
The situation is as follows:
As of August 3rd, Mohammed has suffered injuries to his head, shoulders, hands, and legs after a traffic collision. He is recovering, but with the lack of appropriate medicine and treatment, recovery is expected to take some time.
Mohammed’s son is still suffering after having been officially diagnosed with severe malnutrition, and his condition is WORSENING
Mohammed’s wife is pregnant, but with no aid coming in, both her health and the health of their baby are at severe risk of complications. There are unfortunately STILL no resources for his wife to safely receive the care she needs.
As of August 3rd, all funds raised have been exhausted once again, as prices for food remain at an all time high. Baby formula is still RARE, as the restriction and prevention of baby formula from entering the country is still in effect.
Flour has started to enter, but is now being marked up to unaffordable prices. Over 80% of the land now occupied militarily.
Mohammed has shared with me and continues to reaffirm his commitment to not only helping his family, but of those around him. While evacuation of himself, pregnant wife and child is the priority, he is eager to support those around him as well, and with your support, we can help him.
We are actively looking for resources to help him and his family safely evacuate and relocate from the area. Any resources you can recommend, please feel free to email me [email protected]
Thank you
Thank you to everyone and your support thus far.
Unfortunately, the situation has severely worsened..
Mohammed’s son has been officially diagnosed with severe malnutrition, and his condition is worsening
He shared his wife is pregnant, but with little aid coming in, her health and the health of their baby is at risk of severe complications. There are unfortunately no resources for his wife to safely receive the care she needs.
As of July 10th, all funds raised have been exhausted as the prices for food continue to soar, as well as the little baby formula they’ve been able to find as the restriction and prevention of baby formula from entering the country is still in effect.
Flour distribution as reportedly halted entirely. No flour has entered the strip, with over 80% of the land now occupied militarily.
Mohammed has shared with me and continues to reaffirm his commitment to not only helping his family, but of those around him. While evacuation of himself, pregnant wife and child is the priority, he is eager to support those around him as well, and with your support, we can help him.
Additionally, we’ve reached out to and have spoken to AROC (Arab Resource and Organizing Center) and MECA (Middle East Children’s Alliance), but the support is unfortunately limited on these fronts as well. MECA closed their last food kitchen as of early July, and are now focused on water and sanitation efforts.
We are actively looking for resources to help him and his family safely evacuate and relocate from the area. Any resources you can recommend, please feel free to email me [email protected]
Thank you
