Introduction:
Hello, my name is Hiba, and I am 17 years old, currently living in Gaza. I’m reaching out to you with a heavy heart, as my family and I are facing incredibly difficult circumstances due to the ongoing conflict.
How do you make a difference?
Your donations make a real difference: $10 provides water. $50 provides a daily meal for my family. $100 provides my baby brother with formula and diapers for a week. $200 helps cover my mother’s medical costs. $500 provides Jourieh’s cancer treatment and also contributes to our escape from Gaza.
Current Situation:
Displacement: My family and I have been displaced twice. Initially, we took refuge in shelter schools, but as the situation worsened, we were forced to flee to Al-Mawasi on foot because we could not afford transportation.
Living Conditions:
We are currently displaced in Khan Yunis, in the Abasan area of Wadi Saber. We live in a small tent that barely protects us from the winter cold. My family consists of seven people, and our living conditions are dire.
Why do we need your help?
Basics: We are in dire need of food and basic necessities. Given the current economic situation in Gaza, we cannot afford even the most basic necessities.
Health and Safety: My mother’s health is deteriorating due to back pain, and my baby brother’s health is at risk if he does not receive proper nutrition. My sister Jourie’s health is also at risk. She has liver and lung cancer and needs chemotherapy.
Fleeing Gaza: We are looking for a way to leave Gaza in search of safety and rebuild our lives, but we need financial assistance to do so.
Family Background:
Orphan: I lost my father, who was martyred in the conflict.
Mother’s Health: My mother suffers from a severe herniated disc in her back, making her daily life extremely difficult.
My Sister Jourie: She suffers from liver and lung cancer and requires chemotherapy.
My Brother’s Imprisonment: The occupation forces imprisoned my older brother, leaving him without support.
My Younger Brother’s Needs: My younger brother, who is still an infant, desperately needs diapers and milk, which we are no longer able to provide.
Impact of War
Losing Our Home: Before the war, we lived a simple and happy life in our home. But the occupation bombed our home, leaving us homeless and without possessions.
Exacerbating the Suffering: Since losing our home, life has become a constant struggle. We now face sharp increases in the prices of even the most basic necessities, making it impossible to secure water, food, diapers, milk, and medical treatment.
