“I am Yehya Abu Ouda, and this is my story…”

On the morning of October 7, 2023, my journey with pain began. I am from Beit Hanoun, and that day was not just the beginning of a war… it was the beginning of a genocide. Under the sound of random shelling and fire, we had no choice but to flee. I carried my children and my wife, and we ran with no destination, no belongings, no shelter. We were displaced to Jabalia camp… no beds to sleep on, no blankets, no food, no medicine — nothing but fear and destruction.

We thought we had survived, but the truth was more horrifying than we could have imagined.

On October 23, 2023, the camp was directly bombed, as if there was no safe place left on this land. The shells fell on top of us. I was injured, and so was my baby daughter — who hadn’t even reached her first birthday.

It wasn’t just a wound… her left arm was amputated at the elbow.

Yes, my infant daughter lost her arm as a result of a bombing that did not distinguish between child or adult. This is not a normal war… this is genocide in every sense of the word.

I write to you now with a broken heart. To see my tiny daughter bleeding, suffering, losing a part of her body before she has even learned to speak… is a pain beyond words.

Every night, I watch her trying to crawl with one arm. She looks at me with her little eyes as if asking: “Why?” And I have no answer… only bottled-up tears and helplessness eating me alive.

And our tragedy is far from over… we are still displaced with no home, suffering from unbearable prices, and we have lost our only source of income. We have nothing left. We cannot afford food, medicine, or even diapers for our baby. We live on the kindness of others, praying for mercy.

Today, my daughter is in urgent need of:

– A modern prosthetic limb suitable for her age to help her grow normally.

– Psychological therapy and physical rehabilitation sessions to help her adapt and live with her disability.

– Ongoing medical care, as she may need future surgeries and continuous follow-up.

– Basic living essentials such as food, medicine, clothing, and a safe shelter to protect us from the death raining down from the sky.

I appeal to you from the depths of pain, from beneath the rubble of our home and our dignity, from within the ashes of war and destruction: Help me treat my daughter, restore hope to her, and protect her from remaining a forgotten victim.

Every donation is life… a new arm for my daughter… a cry of humanity in the face of genocide.

I don’t ask for much… only a chance for my daughter to live.
