Hello, my name is Liv and I am fundraising on behalf of my dear friend, Samah. Samah is currently displaced in Egypt, and residing in a single hospital room with her 3 children. The conditions in this hospital are inhumane and crowded, making recovery extremely challenging. In order to ensure her kids receive the medication they need on time, 26,000 EGP (aproximately $520 USD) is required monthly to be sent to Samah.

On top of the need for consistent medical aid, Samah is aiming to raise enough money to leave the hospital and find a modest place to raise her children away from the stressful conditions they are currently subjected to. It is extremely detrimental to the children’s physical and mental health to remain at the hospital, due to the fragility of their state and the lack of resources the institution provides.

Samah’s rendition of her current situation:

I am living in a period of severe psychological pressure

My children’s health is not improving because they are taking immunosuppressive medications such as cortisone, Imuran, and biologics, and at the same time we live in the hospital in shared housing, which exposes them to infection constantly and exposes them to entering the intensive care unit and receiving intravenous treatment continuously

I am currently trying to find an organization or individuals who will help me provide rent for a small house and simple furniture so that I and my children can live in it away from the hospital atmosphere that is full of diseases and epidemics, and I can prepare healthy meals for them away from the meals they provide in the hospital, which are completely unhealthy and full of oils, and at the same time I cannot prepare food for them here because there is no kitchen or place to prepare food and the space is cramped because I live in a shared room with another family.

I am trying to move to a house next to the hospital so that my children can receive their biological treatment on time every two weeks.

Samah is dedicated to ensuring a better life for her children. Your donation makes that possible. Her family has been through the traumas of war and cannot recover while they are treading water. Every penny spent towards getting them out of the hospital and improving their health is a penny well spent.

Currently, due to the amount of funds treatment requires, it is nearly impossible for Samah to save money, since all aid received ends up being alocated to the biweekly treatment of her kids. Our goal with this campaign is to increase the speed in which funds are received so she has the ability to rebuild her family’s life and give them a chance to finally have a home where they feel safe.
