My name is Jessica and I live in Canada. I am leading this fundraising initiative in support of Munira and her family, which includes 6 children. They are not able to create their own fundraiser due to their location. Munira is verified by the mutual aid organizations Butterfrly Effect Project @butterflyeffect.project (line 1355) and PDX Pigeon Mutual Aid @pdxpigeonmutualaid.
Hear about Munira in her own words:
“My name is Munira Al-Aqra. I am 42 years old, and a mother of six children. I live with my husband, my 6 children, and my mother and sister-in-law. Things have been very hard for us since the war. My house was severely damaged and my husband’s livelihood as a fisherman was destroyed after his fishing boat and fishing nets were burned by bombing.
My family members experience several severe medical conditions that I need help supporting them with. My sister-in-law suffers from seizures; my mother-in-law suffers from diabetes, high blood pressure, and hypothyroidism; my eldest son has suffered from asthma since birth; and my daughter needs an operation to install an artificial joint in her foot outside the Gaza Strip when we are able to evacuate. Treatment for my son’s asthma and mother-in-law are currently not available.
Along with my family, I have also become ill from the unhealthy food and polluted water we have been forced to consume, and have contracted amoebiasis( amoebic dysentery) and severe stomach issues. My wish is for us to travel outside the Gaza Strip so my family and I can all access treatment and everything that my family needs, especially so that my daughter can get foot surgery. We cannot afford treatment for any of our health conditions, healthy food, or clean water. With your help, we are hoping that we can buy the medication that my family desperately needs, and that we can buy healthy food and clean water.
Thank you for your support.”
The purpose of this campaign is to help cover the costs of necessities, including fresh food and water and medications.
Please consider supporting this family through the worst time of their lives. Any donation, big or small, makes a big difference the them.
I will be collecting the funds raised and sending it on to Munira. Please note that this campaign is in Canadian dollars which is weak, however you can change the currency when you donate.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask me.
Thank you!

A few weeks ago, Munira’s eldest son Mohammed was injured in his hand and foot. With your donations, he was able to get treatment and continues to recover. In her latest message, Munira told me that all the children are sick due to malnutrition.
Despite the horrific conditions, malnutrition, and constant fear, Munira tries to provide her children with some sense of normalcy. Little Abdullah is continuing his studies and recently received a certificate of achievement (see attached image).
As always, thank you for your ongoing support of Munira and her family. Your kindness is what helps them get through.
Gaza is experiencing mass famine. Food is almost completely gone, and what is left is unimaginably expensive.
I sent on your donations yesterday. Munira was able to purchase a bag of flour. It is already gone.
As always, we thank you for your continued support. It means more than you can ever know.
These past few weeks have been incredibly difficult for Munira and her family.
Abdullah was hit by shrapnel. He is only 6 years old. He will need ongoing treatment and is in a lot of pain.
A few weeks ago, Munira’s sister-in-law was martyred and her brother was injured. Munira is now caring for her neices and nephew, which means three more mouths to feed. She considers them to be like her own children.
Just yesterday, more family members were martyred at the notorious “aid distribution” site in the north. They died hungry.
We thank you for your ongoing support. You can’t know how much it means right now.
