Out of nowhere being completely paralysed, no reason why, no cure and no prognosis of when you will recover. This is the reality for GBS patients. It can happen to anyone at any age at any time. We are here to support those with GBS and make sure they return to normality.

Marion, Neil, Fern, Tim and Justine are all running the Sydney Marathon this September in aid of The Guillain Barre Syndrome Foundation. Running for those who can’t and making a difference.

Guillain Barre Syndrome turns your life upside down, it can happen to anyone, at any age and there is no cure. We are here to listen to individual journey’s, provide information, up to date research and support those suffering from GBS financially and emotionally improving their quality of your life and help get those affected back to normality as soon as possible.

Guillain Barre Syndrome pronounced (Ghee-lan Barré) is an autoimmune condition whereby the peripheral nerves are attacked by the body’s own immune system, causing weakness and paralysis of the limbs.

Immediate consequences of GBS, such as pain and difficulty in communicating, are frightening. The human reaction to these kinds of threats to wellbeing is to feel anxious, along with depression, a sense of helplessness and loss of control. This can be very isolating and frustrating.
