Mental Health
After so many months of research and product development, we at Empath proudly present our array of mental health services and community projects. Here in Empath, we envision a World where all people have access to quality mental healthcare. Hence, we have designed our enterprise both for the private and public sectors. No matter who you are or what you are going through, the Empath Community is here for you. We look forward to working with the nation in building better mental healthcare access for all people.
But there’s a problem
The last two years have been tough for all of us. A global pandemic and all the changes that have come with it have led to an unprecedented decline in the mental health of many people. However, we switched to offering virtual support groups and were able to support brothers across the country. Being stuck at home has been incredibly draining for the siblings of people struggling with mental health issues or who are neurodiverse. Luckily, many siblings have found a safe space and community in their Empath support groups.
Empath was founded one year ago to support siblings of individuals who are neurodiverse or struggle with mental health. After initially starting just for teens, Empath has expanded to include participants ages 18-24.
Here’s what we’re doing about it
Finance is never a barrier to someone’s participation in Empath groups or activities. Empath sessions are offered to participants at a subsidized cost; if a family cannot afford it, group rates are waived. All funds go to licensed mental health professionals to support our groups, attendee care, and other expenses to further our mission. We rely on partners like you to make Empath accessible to all. Whether you donate $1 or $1,000, your donation will improve the lives of siblings of people with neurodiversity.
Why Donate?
Empath’s main goal is to provide a safe space for siblings to express their feelings and be with others who understand what they live with on a daily basis. In addition to providing a support and outlet system, Empath helps siblings develop coping skills and strategies to cope with the day-to-day challenges of living with a sibling with a mental health issue. The central aim of the organization is to show the people that they are not alone in their feelings and experiences. Siblings are just as affected by the needs of the struggling sibling as the rest of the family. Unlike the rest of the family, the siblings have no place to express the frustration, anger, and resentment that build up in their daily lives.
Empath addresses this need by creating a safe space for siblings to share their frustrations and learn coping skills at a support group led by a licensed psychiatrist. In addition to support groups, Empath offers resources, advocacy, networking, and socializing.
We often see mental health movements promoting awareness, but at Empath, we believe the time for understanding is over. Now is the time for advocacy, education, and empowerment, so no one feels alone or isolated in their mental health struggles. Rethink Mental Health Incorporated has aligned its initiatives to achieve this, but we cannot do it alone.
And here’s some amazing perks for supporting us that you can’t live without
Everyone who needs mental help, especially nowadays, and those who love them benefit, that’s the most important thing. You benefit because it feels good to help a worthy cause. You will help people that truly need it.
