Did you know childhood cancer is the number one cause of death by disease in children, and the leading cause of death for children between the ages of 4 and 14? Approximately 1 in 285 children will be diagnosed with cancer before their 20th birthday. Of those children who are diagnosed, 20% will not survive.

Usborne Books and More is donating a portion of their proceeds to the Scott Carter Foundation to pursue treatments and methods to END cancer. Additionally, we are giving sets of Cuddle Bear books and stuffed bears to children in need. Each sponsored set will directly go to a child who is in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at a hospital in the Hampton Roads area. What a comfort to have a story about being loved AND a cuddly bear that you can hold onto when you’re going through a hard and scary time! Sometimes it’s the little things that mean the most – the cuddles and hugs that get you through fear and pain.

To sponsor a child and give a Cuddle Bear book and stuffed animal set is only $25. Usborne Books & More (UBAM), is matching our donations at 50% once we get 10 Sponsors!! So for every set that’s purchased, they donate an additional bear or book, AND they give to the Scott Carter Foundation, supporting cancer research! Our GOAL is $1000 (40 sets). Together, we can achieve great things!
