For My Birthday, I’m Raising Funds For Children With Leukemia

It’s my birthday. And this year, I’m not receiving gifts. Instead, I’m asking anyone of you who would like to send me a present to make a little donation to my NGO “Save a Smile”, so we can keep financing treatments for children suffering from Leukemia and coming from very poor families.

Save a Smile covers medical costs of surgeries and/or treatments for children with cancer whom parents / families cannot afford to bear those costs nor have they any kind of access to social security in extremely poor regions.

Many families are living in extreme poverty in Africa, Latin America and parts of Asia without any kind of social security. Those families live a double pain when their children are diagnosed with cancer or other serious illness: the pain of seeing their little ones suffer from a serious illness, and the pain of being completely unable to get the right healthcare for them.

Because healthcare is not a privilege but a fundamental right, we believe that every child has the right to access proper healthcare without financial barriers.

While we continue our battle to defend Children’s rights and access to fundamental rights, we are raising funds to finance surgeries and/or treatments for children diagnosed with cancer (or other severe diseases).

We cannot save all children who need our help, but thanks to your support, we can reach more and more children. Please support our cause, donate, share and follow our interventions.

We control the entire process, from reviewing the medical files to visiting the child.

Our team receive medical files from hospitals or through social media which are then reviewed by our volunteer doctor to assess their authenticity and level of emergency. Afterwards, we get in touch with the closest hospital to the child’s location which has the right equipment for the surgery/treatment. Once the medical costs are estimated, and the Organization is able to handle them, an approval is signed to finance the surgery/treatment. The child can therefore be transferred to the hospital to receive the necessary healthcare and our team ensure a close follow-up at each step.
