Music fans the world over were once again dumbstruck and saddened at this all-too-common turn of events. How could someone capable of such beauty and inspiration feel so sad and hopeless?

Depression, anxiety and suicide are medical conditions that don’t function in an obvious way. They aren’t simply the result of a bad day and no one should have to “deal with it”. Certainly, no one should have to navigate these conditions on their own.

There are countless stories of those on the brink being pulled back from the by a good conversation with a real person. KidsHelp Phone and the National Suicide Prevention Hotline are having these lifesaving conversations every day. They need our support to become a universal option for those who need to talk.

In the months following Cornell’s passing, a group of independent musicians began an online discussion of their love of his music and shared stories of friends and loved ones lost to depression, anxiety and ultimately, suicide. One by one, they began posting their interpretation’s of Cornell’s music and even formed new collaborations to take part in the sharing of his musical legacy. Under the leadership of Juno nominee, Drew Brown, a decision was made to make this music available to anyone who might want to support the cause in Cornell’s memory.
