This is the story of a dream. A dream of a journey that some call mad, and the mad call ‘The Dream.’ Racing across 15 countries and 17,000 kilometers, we will start in busy and bustling London and head all the way to beautifully rugged Mongolia exploring wild territories, crossing arid landscapes, be engulfed by rugged peaks and chasing the horizon into the vastness of what the best of Europe, Russia and North West Asia has to offer. And blasting our airhorn along the way. You’ve gotta know we’re coming right?

The journey will test our explorative wits as we choose our own adventure route across the three great continents, organize visas and charm our way over border crossings, navigate using local maps and compass (goodbye English road signs!), interacting with locals by lots of goofey smiling, failing hand signals and nervous laughing and the most exciting- tantalise our tastebuds with what’s best described as local cuisine (try first, ask second) all within 6 WEEKS!

Our beloved chariot for our expediton is a little piece of ****…

“But that doesn’t sound very reliable..”

No, it’s not. This is no accident! In the spirit of the Mongolian Rally, teams are encouraged to select a cheap, tiny car with an engine capacity of 1 litre or less, high mileage, a sense of character and that fits within the dimensions of your average shoe box. There will be challenging times. Flat tyres? Check. Car breakdowns? Check. Bogged out in the isolated country side not having seen anyone else drive passed for days? Check. Non existent leg room for tall people? Check. We’ve thought of it all. We’re just praying our radio doesn’t die.

We wanna give back…

The funds we raise will help to support the two charities of our choice. Half of the proceeds will go to the Leukaemia Foundation which helped our family and those alike, who struggle with the hardships and impacts of fighting blood-borne cancers. The other half will go to Cool Earth, who help to halt rainforest destruction worldwide and give voice back to local rainforest communities. It’s not just about stopping deforestation or buying land from the big guys, but about giving locals the independency to keep their rainforest homes standing.

Along the way, we also want to make small contributions to the world. We hope that the locals will be excited to see and interact with people from a different culture and wish to seek these situations out. It is the ties, bonds and conversations along the way, most often nonverbal, that are the true gem of the trip as we are reminded about the importance of creating human connections based on our similarities, not differences.

Yep… there’s the cliché, but it is the truth of it.

We aim to raise $3000 and any donations big or small will make a difference in helping us get there.

We don’t mind selling out…

We’ll do whatever it takes to reach our target.
