There are more than 413,106 Australians living with dementia, and it’s the second leading cause of death in Australia. There are limited preventative measures, and no cure for this disease. A loved one was diagnosed with vascular dementia in 2016, at the age of 61. Since his diagnosis, my goal has been to raise $2,000 for research into treatments and potential cures for all kinds of dementia. Research is critical to be able to correctly diagnose early on, discover new preventative measures, and in order to properly treat those suffering with dementia. While this money won’t be benefiting myself or my family financially, emotionally this is something very close to me and any support would make a very difficult situation just a tiny bit more bearable. I have already raised $1050, and need only $950 to reach my goal. I have raised money by fasting, and will be raising the last portion of my goal with your help, shaving my head in August.
