As many of you know, Amanda has been courageously fighting stage 4 breast cancer for the past five years. She has faced every challenge—countless trips to MD Anderson, PET scans, labs, procedures, and chemo treatments—with grace, strength, and a positivity that has inspired everyone around her. Even through it all, she has continued to stay active in her community and work full-time. This past month, Amanda had to take a leave of absence from her job and is now on disability due to fluid building in her lungs, which causes severe shortness of breath. Despite her optimism and determination, her cancer continues to mutate, making treatment options more difficult. On August 26, 2025, while between appointments at MD Anderson, Amanda’s breathing worsened, and she was rushed to the ER. She was shortly after admitted to the ICU. After consulting with several doctors, including her oncologist, the difficult decision was made that further surgeries or treatments would not improve her outcome. Their recommendation is to bring Amanda home by air medical transport so she can be as comfortable as possible, surrounded by loved ones. Unfortunately, this type of transportation is not covered by insurance. Amanda is one of the strongest, kindest souls you could ever meet. She has spent so much of her life being there for others—now it’s our turn to be there for her. So lets bring our girl home!
