On Saturday, August 30th, Ashtan McClung was rushed into an emergency C-section, delivering their beautiful daughter, Charlotte Mae McClung, at just 28 weeks. Charlotte is currently in the NICU at Huntsville Hospital, where she is receiving round-the-clock care in an incubator. Ashtan is still in the ICU, recovering from a difficult delivery. Her husband, Andrew McClung, has been faithfully splitting his time between Ashtan’s bedside and little Charlotte’s NICU room. While the doctors are optimistic and both mom and baby have been given a good prognosis, their hospital stay will be long and filled with challenges. Andrew proudly serves the community as a firefighter with Decatur Fire & Rescue and also works as a paramedic in Decatur. Now, he and Ashtan need their community’s support. With Ashtan facing a much longer recovery than they ever anticipated, and Charlotte requiring extended care, the McClungs are preparing for unexpected expenses—medical bills, travel, time away from work, and the daily costs that come with such a difficult season.
