Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Strangers, Our sister and friend, Emily, is one of the strongest, smartest, funniest, and most resilient people we know. She faced aggressive Stage 3 triple-negative breast cancer in 2023 head-on, and after going through chemo, a double mastectomy to reconstruction, and radiation, she was declared in remission. We truly believed she had made it to the other side. But in June of this year, everything changed. What started as a routine conversation with a specialist about preventative care quickly turned into a Chest-Abdomen-Pelvic CT, a PET scan, and a lung biopsy. And just like that, the cancer was back—this time in her lungs and the surrounding lymph nodes. Now she’s facing a Stage 4 diagnosis. It’s the kind of news that rocks your entire world. Her original cancer had responded incredibly well to treatment, and for a moment, we had hope. But this recurrence—though caught early—has forced her into a completely new battle. In fact, it’s the fight for the rest of her life. She started chemo again—Taxol, every week for three weeks, then a break and repeat. Unfortunately, due to the cancer being Triple Negative, chemo treatment will continue indefinitely. She calls it her “new normal,” but that doesn’t make it any less brutal. Despite the physical toll and emotional weight of this diagnosis, my sister is determined to live fully, laugh hard, spend the max amount of time with the people she loves, and travel as far and as often as she can. She’s still working out and running (yes, literally—she ran four miles the week after her PET scan). She’s still hilarious (she nicknamed one of the cancer cells Calvin, the masochistic sociopath). And, most importantly, she’s still showing up for life with courage and fire. Here’s where we need your help: • Medical expenses- including chemotherapy, scans, and additional out-of-pocket costs • Additional Therapies not always covered by insurance – Acupuncture, nutrition assistance, workout regimens to help continue to move her body in different ways, cranial prothesis, etc. • Nutritious, healing foods- to support her body during treatment • Comfort items—from soft clothing to wellness products that ease side effects • And perhaps most meaningful: the chance to continue traveling, both through work and personal, to experience the world and continue creating memories There’s a painful truth we’re learning to live with: time might be limited (or maybe not! We have to see how treatment goes). But what Emily wants most is to make that time count—not just in hospitals, but out in the world, with the people she loves, doing the things that bring her joy and laughter. Every donation helps her do exactly that. Where your support goes: • All funds go directly to Emily through this website. • We’ll keep sharing updates, so you know how she’s doing and how your kindness is helping This isn’t just about paying bills. It’s about giving her comfort. Giving her peace. And giving her time—quality time—to live the rest of her life on her own terms. If you’re able to donate, thank you. If you can’t, sharing this page helps more than you know. With love and deep gratitude, Amanda Olson and Kelli Cline on behalf of our sister and friend, Emily Crain
