I am Don Wilson, current president of Cougar Squares Square and Round Dance Club in Toledo, WA. Elizabeth Carne is a fun and friendly member of our club. On July 8th, while helping an elderly neighbor bring in a trash can, Elizabeth was attacked by a large, aggressive dog that burst out of the house. She suffered serious bites to her arm and leg, including a broken bone and bites that have become infected. Because Elizabeth is diabetic, her recovery has been slow and complicated. She is currently on antibiotics and will soon begin physical therapy. Elizabeth works as a contractor for the Washington State Department of Licensing, a position which does not offer any medical benefits or sick leave. She has been unable to work since the attack and has no income now and no medical insurance and mounting medical bills. To date, the dog’s owner has not offered any compensation and may be judgment proof. We are asking friends, fellow dancers, and kindhearted supporters to help Elizabeth through this difficult time. Your donation will go directly toward her medical bills and basic living expenses while she recovers. As a new dancer, Elizabeth has been involved with our club activities and has participated in dances with Cougar Squares, Prairie Steppers, Columbia River Dancers, R Square D, and some of the clubs in Olympia at Lac-A-Do Hall. Elizabeth is always willing to lend a hand or share a smile. Now it is our turn to support her. Thank you for your generosity.
