Just a few days ago, life changed in an instant for Hailey, a vibrant 17-year-old who had just begun her senior year of high school. She was rushed to LeBonheur Children’s Hospital, where doctors determined she had suffered a cervical spine stroke — a rare and serious medical emergency. Hailey is currently intubated, sedated, and on multiple medications as the medical team works tirelessly to stabilize her. Her mom, who is her rock and constant source of strength, is at her bedside around the clock. Just last week, she herself underwent gallbladder surgery, making this emotional and physical battle even more overwhelming. She will continue to remain at the hospital with Hailey for the weeks — and possibly months — to come. This journey will be long and difficult. Between the hospital stay, ongoing treatments, and the need for her mom, Brooke, to be by her side, the financial strain on the family is growing quickly and will continue to grow.
