Hi. My name is Jevon, and I’m fundraising because my family—more importantly, my father—could use your help. On August 23, 2025, my father was found on his living room floor breathing shallowly. He had to undergo an emergency surgery to amputate his right leg the very next morning. Despite losing his leg, my father and family are extremely grateful that, by the grace of God, he still has his life. My siblings and I are raising money on behalf of our father to help gift him the opportunity to walk again. On April 7, 2025, on his way to work, he was involved in a car accident. That accident left him with a head injury, bruised lungs, broken ribs, a broken femur, and a shattered hip. Although we knew the road to recovery was going to be hard and painful, it was estimated that with hard work, he would be back to work within 6 months. Unfortunately, not only would he be on unpaid leave, his job would only continue to cover his insurance for the first 3 months of his recovery. As a result, he has not had any income since April and his medical insurance was cut in July. While on the road to recovery, my father ended up with a life-threatening infection that spread through his bloodstream and bones, starting from his foot and traveling to his calf. My father, a City of Philadelphia worker of over 20 years, and my family are now struggling to cover medical expenses such as: a prosthetic leg, stay at a skilled nursing facility, assisted transportation to future appointments, physical therapy, monthly bills, and other expenses, all while working to accept his new life as an amputee. Although my family is seeking medical insurance for our father, we are unsure of if/when he will be approved. My father is in need of love, prayer, and a financial blessing. It is our hope that we will be able to raise enough money to cover his medical expenses, and also afford to gift him the opportunity to walk again. While we are experiencing a very difficult time, we believe we will get through this. If you see it in your heart to donate, no amount is too small, and my family greatly appreciates it.
