My name is Dr. Christopher Cochran. I live in a small community in the Arkansas Ozarks. We are fortunate to have a vigorous Mennonite community here. One of our little Mennonite community members stepped on an armadillo bone a few weeks back and got a nasty infection. Sadly, the Mennonite community does not vaccinate their children for tetanus, and unfortunately, young Benjamin Kropf is currently very sick at Arkansas Children’s Hospital in the intensive care unit with a very dangerous tetanus affliction. The good news is that he seems to be turning a corner. The bad news is that Myron and Nora, his folks, will invariably be burdened with much financial hardship as a result of Benjamin’s helicopter flight, hospitalization, and hopeful recovery. I would like to beg the good-hearted people of the world to help us with Benjamin’s recovery. I know there will be people who will be leery because the Mennonite community does not engage in “English” medicine. I understand. Nonetheless, a little boy is very sick, and a very good family is on the verge of financial ruin. It should be noted that the Kropfs are a very large family and they pay their own way. I think they deserve our help, despite what philosophical differences we might have with them.
