Who is Bailey?
My name is Hunter and I have an amazing younger sister named Bailey. If you could ever spend time to closely get to know her, you’d understand just how incredible she is. Always serving others, loves Jesus, loves her family, works incredibly hard on her growing photography business, is a rockstar of a mom, and much more.
What’s going on?
The last 7-8 years Bailey has been on a roller coaster of illnesses that came in many different ways. As these illnesses got more frequent and began to worsen, her livelihood began to really decline as her normal day-to-day living was sadly becoming just a memory. It would make us all happy if we heard Bailey had a few hours of feeling better on any given day because 90% of the time she felt horrible. Bailey has sought help from many doctors of different professions and walks of medicine to no avail. Empty promise after empty promise on finding her answers, always circling back to “we just don’t know” or even worse, “this could all just be in your head” which left Bailey feeling so defeated and wondering if she’d ever feel a sense of normalcy ever again. Within the last year and a half, Bailey really started to decline much more rapidly, her body seemingly shutting itself down with horrible symptoms. With a tip from a friend she tried a test that revealed Bailey had been battling Lyme disease in her system all these years (which is what she personally believed to be the case, however the previous doctors never entertained that as a possibility when she’d bring it up). Also, as a result of the Lyme going undetected, or not taken seriously for such a large length of time, her body’s immune system deteriorated from the Lyme. This explained why she became ill so frequently and is now riddled with horrible bacterias that her body can not fight off, but instead has continued to grow which is also what caused her rapid decline over the past year.
The Good News
As of four days ago, Bailey got in contact with a clinic in Arizona that specializes in Lyme disease treatment and all illness that are a byproduct of that. Bailey flew out to see them immediately and they looked over her long history of previous tests/doctor visits and then ran more labs on her there. Long story and many details spared: they knew exactly what was going on with her and are fully confident that within 8-10 weeks they can have her around 90% remission to where her body’s natural immune system is strengthened back up and takes over to return her to normal life! Praise God for answered prayers and a step in the right direction.
The Bad News
Unfortunately this clinic is not covered by any insurance simply because they perform medical practice outside of CDC and Big Pharma regulations/guidelines (for reasons I’m sure we can understand). You see, this clinic is in the business of truly helping/healing people, not just prescribing pharmaceutical medication that line the pockets, if you catch my drift here. As much as that sucks, our family will do whatever means necessary to get Bailey the help she needs to return to normal life. The treatment alone will start at $80,000 for the 8-9 weeks, assuming and hoping she doesn’t need more. On top of this Bailey will be having to live in Arizona renting an airbnb for the 8-10 weeks of treatment while also having to set aside all of her photography work, as well as paying for flights to and from Arizona for her husband Blane and son Beckham to come see her during that time.
How can you help?
Anything at all helps, no donation is too small. Like I said, our family is going to rally around Bailey and do whatever we can together to get her this help because we all want to see her return to her healthy happy self that we haven’t seen in years. It’s a large price, but together and with the help of our amazing friends and community, I’m believing and trusting that the money will work itself out to not be a major stress on them on top of everything else they’ll be dealing with as a family while she goes through with these treatments. We’re praying for peace and healing for Bailey in this journey and thank you from the bottom of our hearts for considering giving.
