Product Description
Australian Wildlife Rescue Service Central Queensland is a non profit organisation, run soley by volunteers, and resourced by donations only. Our very dedicated volunteers have been focused on rescuing, rehabilitating and releasing sick, injured or orphaned Australian Native Wildlife for many years. Our volunteers also staff a 24 hour wildlife rescue hotline. We care for all furry, feathery and scaly native wildlife in Central Queensland (Isaac and Mackay region.) Our biggests costs are vet bills, specialised milk powder for macropods and possums, cages and fencing supplies. It is estimated that an orphaned kangaroo joey costs $300 – $1000 to raise, not including any vet bills. At the moment, our volunteers are paying large amounts of money for specialised animal foods out of their own pockets, however, community support is urgently needed to continue to support the increasing numbers of injured and orphaned wildlife coming into care.
