Our nephew and Godson, Noah, necessitates urgent corneal cross-linking eye surgery in both eyes to prevent blindness due to a recent diagnosis of Keratoconus. This disease is progressing rapidly, requiring immediate medical attention. Noah, an exceptional 24-year-old, holds a management position and is financially independent, residing with his fiancée, Elise. Following their recent engagement, the couple had been planning their wedding when Noah received this distressing news from a retina and cornea specialist. Over the past year, Noah experienced increasingly blurry vision in his left eye, prompting a medical consultation, which revealed the necessity for surgery in both eyes. The prescribed corneal cross-linking surgery is quite costly, and Noah’s insurance will not provide coverage as it remains in the experimental stages. The recovery period following surgery is approximately two weeks, during which time Noah will be unable to work, with a portion of this time spent with his eyes bandaged, rendering him temporarily sightless.
