Story

This isn’t just a fundraiser. It’s how I stay alive.

Hi, my name is Demisha Jennings, and I never imagined I’d be writing this.

In December 2024, I had what was supposed to be a routine thyroid surgery. By January, I was diagnosed with Stage 3 thyroid cancer and just weeks later, I found out it had already spread to my lung.

Since then, I’ve had a total thyroidectomy, completed one round of radiation, and have another round coming soon. I’ve sat through nuclear medicine isolation, started lifelong medication, and continued managing treatment while trying to raise my children and run my business.

I kept showing up. Coaching clients. Hosting trainings. Building like nothing was wrong.

But something is very wrong.

I am mentally, physically, and emotionally exhausted.

And now, I need to do the one thing I’ve always put last: rest.

That’s why I’m asking for your support.

The Goal: 250,000

This number may seem big, and it is.
But it reflects the actual cost of surviving advanced cancer while trying to keep life going. It’s not a luxury. It’s stability. Survival. And a chance to heal without falling apart financially.

Here’s exactly where your donation will go:

1. Critical Medical Treatment – 60,000

This includes my total thyroidectomy, hospital stay, anesthesia, pathology, and two rounds of radioactive iodine (RAI) treatment. These procedures weren’t optional. They were my first steps toward staying alive.

2. Ongoing Specialist Care – 35,000

This covers monthly endocrinology visits, nuclear medicine appointments, ENT specialists, lung monitoring, and regular labs to track tumor markers and hormone levels. Cancer care doesn’t end after one visit, it becomes your full-time reality.

3. Lifelong Medications – 25,000

I no longer have a thyroid. I now take daily hormone replacement for life, plus medications to manage calcium levels, radiation side effects, inflammation, and energy. These prescriptions aren’t covered in full by insurance.

4. Counseling & Mental Health Support – 10,000

Cancer impacts more than the body. This fund supports trauma therapy for me, grief counseling for my kids, and mental health care to help us process a reality none of us saw coming.

5. Missed Income & Household Survival – 60,000

I’ve been pushing through treatment while still working, but I can’t keep going at this pace. This amount covers rent, utilities, groceries, and other essentials while I take time off to fully rest and recover.

6. Emergency & Unplanned Medical Costs – 15,000

Cancer is unpredictable. This buffer helps cover ER visits, infections, unexpected scans, second opinions, or sudden changes in treatment plans. It’s not extra, it’s protection from financial collapse if something shifts.

If you’ve made it this far , thank you.

Just 5 brings me one step closer to stability.

If you’re in a position to help, I’m asking , humbly, for your support today.

Why This Matters

This isn’t just about treatment.

It’s about creating the space to actually heal, without worrying if the lights will stay on, if the rent will be paid, or if I’ll have to push through another week just to survive.

This is about giving me, and my kids, the chance to focus on living.

If my work has ever helped, inspired, or supported you…

If I’ve ever poured into your journey…

I’m asking for a little of that poured back now.

Every donation helps. Every share helps. Every prayer helps.

This is not the end of my story, it’s a pause.

A necessary reset.

And when I return?

I’ll be stronger, wiser, and more rooted in purpose than ever before.

Thank you for standing with me.

— Demisha
