Hi, we’re the Session family—and we’re inviting you into a sacred part of our story: Donna’s journey of healing, faith, and coming home.

On March 11, Donna Session suffered a right ventricular brain bleed that led to emergency neurosurgery, time on a ventilator, and weeks in the ICU. By God’s healing hand, Donna has pulled through and is now in an intensive rehabilitation center, where she receives daily physical, occupational, and speech therapy. Her resilience is inspiring, and we are deeply thankful to see her regaining strength, awareness, and movement day by day.

Donna is a beloved wife to Vince Session and devoted mother to Dana and Veniece. She’s spent over 35 years shaping young minds in the Detroit Public Schools system—not only as an educator but as a mentor and leader. A woman of deep faith, passion, and energy, she’s also completed multiple half marathons, served as a wedding and event coordinator, and brings joy wherever she goes—including with her colorful love for balloon artistry. Donna has poured her heart into her family, her students, her church, and her community.

Now, as she embarks on this next phase of healing, we are rallying together to pour that same love and care back into her.

Now, A New Chapter Begins: Coming Home
We are now preparing for the next—and perhaps most critical—phase: Donna’s transition from 24/7 hospital care to in-home recovery. She is being discharged soon from the inpatient rehab facility and will begin the long-term journey of healing at home. This requires specialized home renovations, medical equipment, and personal care support to ensure she continues to thrive safely and with dignity.
We’ve been blessed with a private room during rehab, the support of incredible nurses and therapists, and meaningful daily victories. Now, we are committed to building that same environment of healing right in our home.

Our Immediate Needs:
Home Accessibility Upgrades
• Wheelchair ramp installation
• First-floor bedroom setup with safety adaptations
• Wheelchair Accessible Full Bathroom renovation
Home Care Essentials
• Overnight and daytime caregiving assistance
• Mobility aids (walker, bed rail, lift support if needed)
• Medical supplies (pill organizers, therapy tools, compression gear)
Healing Nutrition & Holistic Care
• Blender/meals for pescetarian-friendly recovery
• Adaptive utensils and anti-choking dishware
• Natural methods for rehab: sound therapy, puzzles, brain games, white noise support

Peace of Mind
We are coordinating schedules between family, but help is still needed to cover professional caregivers, especially overnight. With your support, we can give Donna the stable, peaceful recovery environment she deserves.

Why Your Support Matters
Our mom is a giver — and our anchor. A faith-filled woman with a servant’s heart, Donna has spent her life lifting others up. From raising a family to encouraging friends, and serving as a devoted teacher and leader in the Detroit Public School community for over 35 years, she has always been a source of strength and light.

Now, she needs that love poured back into her.

Healing at home is possible — but we can’t do it alone. Insurance has helped cover a few immediate needs (a hospital bed, wheelchair, and lift), but it does not provide for the home renovations, long-term caregiving, or vital recovery tools that Donna now requires. We’re asking for help in this season of new beginnings.

Donna continues to show up with faith, strength, and compassion. Even now, as she works to recover her voice and mobility, she radiates determination and grace. We believe this is just the beginning of her restoration story — and your support, your prayers, and your generosity are helping write that next chapter with us.
