Help Support Irenia After a Sudden Brain Aneurysm

Story

On May 20th, my beloved wife Irenia Cortez suffered a sudden and devastating ruptured brain aneurysm while at work. She collapsed without warning and rushed to Mercy Hospital, where her condition quickly worsened. She had to be resuscitated twice before being airlifted to Washington Regional Medical Center for critical care.

Since then, Irenia has remained in a comatose state. The doctors have told us that the outlook is not promising. Even if she wakes up, the damage caused by the hemorrhage may leave her with permanent impairments on her speech, memory, and other vital functions. They’ve advised us to prepare for the worst.

But we are not ready to give up.

Irenia is a fighter. She is a strong, loving soul who has touched so many lives with her warmth, compassion, and resilience. We are holding onto hope and doing everything in our power to support her, but the road ahead is overwhelming. The cost of emergency medical care, airlift transportation, neurological treatments, and long-term care planning is immense. On top of that, we are faced with everyday bills and expenses that continue to mount as we stay by her side.
