Help Bam Kick Cancer’s Butt
Story
Bam is the kind of friend that you look at and think, “now that is one tough woman”. She’s a single mom to an incredible 10 year old daughter AND a business owner, and somehow she manages to be great at both of those things. She’s the kind of friend that you can rely on to help you out, no questions asked, and she’ll do it with a smile.
And now she needs our help. After months of unanswered questions, and a seemingly endless list of symptoms, Bam was diagnosed with an extremely rare form of cancer, an ovarian mucinous adenocarcinoma. In Bam’s own words it’s “rare and rude”.
It’s been a wild ride since her diagnosis. She was told that because they don’t see mucinous tumors often, they have limited data on successful treatment. Since February she’s undergone two surgeries; one that involved a total abdominal hysterectomy (removal of the ovaries), a BSO (removal of both fallopian tubes), and an omentectomy, and the second surgery in April was to remove lymph nodes. All this has caused her to have to stop working, all while continuing to do the myriad of things that make single moms real-life super heroes. As of this month she has established care with a chemo team, and is officially under observation. She’s taken it all in stride, step by step, day by day. Remember when we said Bam was tough? Yeah, that’s an understatement.
That’s where we step in. It’s time to help our friend. After months of being away from her tattooing business and with mounting medical bills rolling in, continued care and treatment, and general living expenses, Bam and her family need our help now more than ever. And if you know her, you know she’s stubborn as hell 🙂 and would never ask for help herself. So it’s time to show someone who has always managed to get by on her own, that she doesn’t need to do this by herself. We are big believers in community. The real kind. The kind that rallies around their people, especially when it’s hard. Please give what you can and share if you’re not in a position to give. Let’s all channel our inner Bam, and do what needs to be done, no questions asked.
