Story

Most of you reading this know who I am and know part of Jenni’s story. For those of you that may not Jenni is a 48 year old, lifelong Trenton resident, wife, mom of 7 and the best friend of 40 years us girls could have!!! Her current story is as follows. While we have hoped and prayed since Jen’s diagnosis in January of this year of stage 4 colon cancer with mets to the liver things wouldn’t come to this but, sadly it has. If you know Jenni you love her! There’s nothing not to love! She is the kindest most caring, loving, dependable mother, wife, sister, friend anyone on this earth could ever be blessed enough to have. Through this entire process of routine chemo 3 days at a time, being at infusion center every other day because of the side effects of this chemo that mind you, will not cure her cancer just trying to get her to a point of safely operating. In addition to that she is a mother of 6 and bonus mom to 1! She is the backbone for every one of these children. The youngest being 4 and 2. We all know how busy that is! She never complains, in fact most of the time is reassuring and picking up the loved ones around her that worry minimizing her symptoms and pain. The healthcare plan at this time is more chemo, surgery hopefully in July to resect her colon-the primary source of cancer, inserting a chemo pump to her liver to keep it from spreading. After healing from that she will go on the liver transplant list as the cancer is spread too much over the liver to operate. At this point in time, they are already in the hole over 20,000 for treatment that has already happened. Compounded financial stress as Jenni has always worked full-time and that income is no longer there. There truly is no stronger woman on this earth that I know and we all know she will beat this, but that doesn’t mean the road to getting to that victory isn’t hell. The frustration and heartbreak that she struggles with every day not being able to work not being able to give 100% to her family. Things as little as but, huge impact, not being able to lift her babies due to weight restrictions. Days of being too sick to feel like she’s mothering at all when she is a woman that was truly put on this earth to mother. While, she has an amazing support system of her family, her in laws, and friends there for her and we all try to help her through those depressing struggling days and keep her uplifted. We know that we can’t take the emotional or the physical burden away. So we are taking action on the one thing we can help with, financial stress. Every single penny will help, Jenni is also the most understanding human in this world. Do not feel bad if the funds aren’t there, we know times are tight for a lot of people. In lieu of financial assistance please pray for complete healing. Additionally, Jen has become a huge advocate for everyone to get their colonoscopy as well as all cancer screenings available. This was her first colonoscopy completely routine for her age just like most of us reading this. So above all else, get your cancer screenings!
