Story
Hello family and friends!
I never imagined I’d be writing something like this, but today I’m asking for help on behalf of someone who means the absolute world to me. My sweet girl, Millie Bear.
Millie is more than just a dog, she’s family. She’s my shadow, my comfort on hard days, and my daily reminder to find joy in the little things. Her favorite thing in the world is chasing squirrels and bunnies in the backyard, tail wagging, eyes bright, heart full of excitement. But recently, in the middle of one of those playful chases, something went terribly wrong.
Millie tore both of her cranial cruciate ligaments (CCL), one in each of her back legs. She went from running and playing to not being able to walk at all. Watching her struggle, confused and in pain, has been absolutely heartbreaking. She tries to stand, to play, to be her old self—but her body just won’t let her. And it’s crushing to see the light in her eyes dim even a little.
She’s still so young, and with the right care, she has so much life and love left to give. But to have that chance, she needs surgery on both legs, a procedure that comes with a heavy price tag. It’s more than my family can manage on our own, which is why I’m here, humbly asking for your help.
Every single dollar raised will go directly to Millie’s medical care. Even the smallest donation means more than I can express. It means hope, healing, and the chance for Millie to run again, to chase squirrels, to be pain-free. To be herself.
If you can’t donate, please consider sharing this with others. Your love, your prayers, and your support, emotional or financial, mean the world to us right now.
Thank you from the bottom of mine and my family’s hearts for reading Millie’s story, and for helping us get her back on her feet.
With endless gratitude and love,
Key family & Millie Bear
