Help the Keenan Family Through Brandon’s Treatment

This fundraiser has been created to assist the Keenan family during Brandon’s cancer journey.
To share a little about Brandon…he and his wife Susie are the parents to Nolan (age 9) and Jacob (age 7). The Keenans live in Myrtle Beach and are active in their church. Brandon loves God, his family and smokin’ meat. Brandon was recently diagnosed with nasopharyngeal cancer (squamous cell carcinoma) that has also spread to his lymph nodes. Nasopharyngeal cancer is a rare type of head and neck cancer that starts in the upper part of the neck, behind the nose.
Brandon will be undergoing 7 weeks ( Mon thru Fri) of Proton beam radiation therapy. Proton therapy generally offers better targeting and sparing of healthy tissues, as compared to typical electron beam therapy. Due to the specialization of this type of therapy, it is not readily available everywhere.
Brandon and Susie live in Myrtle Beach, SC but will be traveling to Charlotte, NC for treatment each week. This will require them to spend 5 days each week in Charlotte. Since his oncologist is in Charlotte, there will also be various trips back to NC after treatment is complete for follow-up visits and scans as needed.
This fundraiser is intended to assist with travel costs, lodging, meals, co-pays/deductibles, and any other medical costs not covered by insurance. The hope is that this will relieve some stress for Brandon and his family while he is not working and so he can focus on healing and recovery.
