Story
Hi, my name is Nikki Astle, and I’m writing this with a heavy heart on behalf of my best friend, Alison Tully.
In a short 6 weeks after giving birth to her newborn twins, Alison received the devastating news that she has a rare aggressive form of triple negative breast cancer — all while she’s home on maternity leave, caring for her two beautiful newborn twin girls, Mina James and Junie Rose.
What should be a time filled with snuggles, lullabies, and first smiles has instead become a time of uncertainty, doctor’s appointments, and emotional overwhelm. In the blink of an eye, Alison went from bonding with her new babies to preparing for chemotherapy, sugeries, and radiation.
If you know Alison your aware that she is an incredible woman — compassionate, strong, and fiercely devoted to her girls. She’s poured her heart into being a new mom, and now she’s being asked to fight for her life while raising two infants. If you ask me or the people closest to her – we would all say she’s doing it with fearlessness, bravery and grace.
This GoFundMe was created to help ease the immense financial burden she’s facing while on unpaid maternity leave. Your donation will help cover:
Medical expenses and treatments not fully covered by insurance
Basic living costs while Alison is unable to work
Infant care needs for Mina and Junie
Transportation to and from doctors and specialists
