Stand With John and Shelley in Their Battle

Story

John, only 43 years old, devoted husband to our beautiful sister and a loving father to their two young boys (ages 7 and 4)—is courageously fighting stage IV melanoma. The cancer has metastasized to different areas of his body.

We always thought melanoma was “just” skin cancer. We have learned that it is one of the most aggressive cancers and one of the most difficult to treat. John is a fighter and is determined to beat this cancer for his two precious boys and wife, Shelley.

They have a tremendous trust in God and their faith through all the challenges is inspiring! Many family members, friends and coworkers have asked how they can help because we all respect and love them, so this avenue is what we decided on with their permission. Recently, he was admitted to the ICU with severe brain swelling. The neurosurgeon performed surgery to remove two tumors from his brain. While he continues to fight with incredible strength and resilience, the road ahead is uncertain and filled with mounting medical costs, time away from work, and the daily needs of a young family.
