URGENT: Help Art Cathey Fight Cancer & Come Home

My name is Brandon George, and I’m calling on everyone who’s ever been touched by Art Cathey’s fire, her truth, or her unshakable belief in our freedom.

Art—the visionary behind GTFOA, the woman who taught thousands of us how to build lives of choice in Ghana and beyond—is now in the fight of her life. She has been diagnosed with liver and colon cancer. The pain is brutal. The clock is ticking. But Art? She’s still fighting.

Why This Is Critical
Cancer doesn’t mean surrender—it means time is everything. Right now, Art needs:

Immediate surgery in Ghana to stop the spread and ease her pain.
To return home to Maryland—to heal near her son, access advanced care, and spend whatever time she has left surrounded by love.

She’s poured her savings into staying alive. We can’t let her run out of options.

The Hard Truth
This isn’t just about treatment. It’s about dignity. It’s about making sure the woman who taught us to claim our freedom isn’t trapped by a broken system. It’s about giving her the chance to hug her son again.

Where Every Dollar Goes

Surgery & Care in Ghana (10K–30K): Emergency operation, hospital stay, pain relief.
✈️ Flight Home to Maryland (3K–5K): One-way ticket, medical transport if needed.
Housing & Living Costs (10K–20K): Rent, utilities, and groceries near her son.
U.S. In-Home Care (5K–15K): Pain management, nurses, comfort.

We’re staring down two goals:

30,000 gets her surgery and a flight home.
50,000+ ensures she can heal without financial terror.

This Is How We Show Up

Art spent her life pulling us out of despair and into possibility. Now, we pull for her.

If her work ever helped you breathe easier, dream bigger, or take the leap—this is your moment.
If you’ve never met her but believe Black women deserve soft landings—this is your moment.

Donate. Share. Repeat. Time is the one thing we can’t buy back.

With love, urgency, and hope,
Brandon George & Everyone Who Knows Art’s Light
