Support Dani’s Legacy: Help Josie & Lorie Heal with Love
Story
In Loving Memory of Danille Chea
Danille Chea—“Dani” to all who knew her—passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 24th, at Hope Health Inpatient Hospice in Providence after a courageous three-year battle with ovarian cancer. She had just turned 37 in April. Born just outside of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Dani’s vibrant spirit and unwavering determination carried her from medical studies in Rio de Janeiro to building a life of compassion and care here in the United States. At 19, she bravely immigrated on her own, driven by independence and a dream to serve others.
As a Certified Nursing Assistant and later as supervisor of phlebotomists at a clinical laboratory, Dani’s gentle touch, warm smile, and boundless generosity comforted countless patients. She faced every challenge—with illness and beyond—with grace, bravery, and an unshakable spirit.
Above all, Dani was a devoted wife and mother: her greatest pride and joy were her husband, Josie Chea, and their daughter, Lorie Vieira.
Dani’s passing leaves a deep void in our hearts. She is survived by Josie and Lorie, who now face the difficult path of healing and rebuilding without her daily presence. As we honor her legacy of love, resilience, and kindness, we’re asking you to stand with us in support of the family she adored:
For Josie: Help him find strength, healing, and the resources to rebuild their home and life together.
For Lorie: Invest in her future—her education, her dreams, and the promise of graduation on the horizon.
Your gift will ensure that Dani’s love continues to light their way, giving Josie space to heal and Lorie the security she needs to pursue her dreams in the years ahead.
She is also survived by her beloved mother, Maria Tereza Sagario Filho, her dear brothers, Pablo and Afonso of East Providence as well as many loving family members in Brazil. In addition, Dani is lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her father and mother-in-law, Sophon and Keang Chea of North Attleboro; her brother-in-law Philip Chea and his wife Heather of Cumberland; her sister-in-law Amy Shea and her husband Justin of New York; and her treasured nephew, Dominic Chea. Dani’s love extended to many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends across the globe, each of whom will carry her memory in their hearts.
Dani’s life was a testament to resilience, kindness, and love. She faced every moment with quiet strength and left a lasting imprint on the hearts of all who knew her. Her legacy will live on in the lives she touched, the family she cherished, and the love she gave so freely.
Calling hours for Dani will take place on Friday, May 30, 2025, from 4-7 PM, at Foley Cook New Day Cremation and Funeral Care, 126 South Main St., Attleboro.
