Story
If you knew my father, Dennis Bauman, you know he was one of the most kind and generous people you could meet. He was always looking for ways he could help others while never expecting anything in return. He had a child-like wonder about the world and was an extreme optimist. He had a good humor and was a man of depth with loads of different interests; he traveled the world as a flight attendant for over 15 years, ran a vending machine business for multiple decades, and was truly passionate about farming.
But behind the generous spirit, he was also chronically stressed and dealing with a myriad of issues for a very long time, such as financial problems, business hurdles, legal battles, and family issues. And on May 20th, he took his own life. He leaves behind 3 grieving sons (28, 25, and 23 y/o) and 2 struggling businesses straddled with debt (a farm and a vending machine business).
We are humbly asking for support to help with his funeral costs (a beautiful wake was held on May 24th with so many loved ones in attendance). Any additional funds will then go towards supporting living expenses for his youngest son, Nick.
Nick and Dennis lived together, were business partners in the farm, and were best friends. Nick’s main source of income was the farm, which we are now in a position to have to sell, and he will have to find new employment. Nick is also in need of a new permanent housing solution for him and his 2 large dogs.
The outpouring of love, compassion, and kind words we’ve received has meant the world to us. Thank you for keeping our family in your thoughts during this impossibly hard time.
With gratitude,
The Bauman Family
