Story
Shea Bainbridge, delighted by most and delightful to all, passed away this weekend after an unbearably short time on this earth. Her iconic stature contained more magic, ferocity, and allure than bodies of any size should be able to hold.
Shea’s most profound and enduring love was for her children, who now need our support. They are both loved and cared for, but Shea was unable to leave them with any financial foundation. In addition to immediate funeral and travel expenses, L (now 16!) and S (now 23!) have the same kind of expenses all young people do; braces and school supplies and college and car repairs and rent and all the other things families want to provide their kids with. Shea’s family of origin is not in the picture, so it is now up to all of us to be that family for Shea’s children.
If you knew Shea, we are deeply sorry for your loss; if you didn’t know her, we are sorry, too, for your loss – you really missed knowing someone extraordinary. But whether you are part of the Shea diaspora, know or love someone who is, or are simply a kind soul who is moved by this family, please be as generous as you can be to support L and S, who are the best of their mother and more. And please share far and wide.
