Cottages 4 Country Care is a not-for-profit charity organization who provides affordable accommodation for remote patients requiring urgent specialist care in Adelaide.

Founded in 2008 the charity has facilitated over 8000 nights of accommodation for guests from rural NSW, NT, and South Australia in the past 5 years.

Cottages 4 Country Care have provided accommodation for guests diagnosed with the following medical conditions:

· Dialysis· Kidney transplants

· Liver transplants

· Cancer

· Gynecology & Obstetrics

· Brain Aneurysms;

· and many more…

Cottages 4 Country Care is here to support all medical conditions and adults and children alike, a one-stop accommodation service; inclusive of all.

The charity is run entirely by a team of volunteers. Our volunteers dedicate time to taking bookings, cleaning accommodation, gardening, and general maintenance. They are always there to provide our guests with support and always up for a chat!

PAIGE’S STORY

At 25, Paige was living a fun filled and healthy life. One day Paige instantly lost consciousness after suffering a brain bleed.

Paige was airlifted to the Royal Adelaide Hospital where she would remain unconscious for 3 weeks.

Paige’s family and friends rushed to be by her side, not knowing how they would afford hotel accommodation to stay close by waiting for Paige to wake. With so much uncertainty around Paige’s condition and finding accommodation Cottages 4 Country Care stepped in!

Jane’s Cottage became the families “Home away from Home” over the next 12 weeks of uncertain times relieving the financial stress and burden of finding accommodation from the family.

Paige made a full recovery and returned home with her family and friends by her side.

By donating to Cottages 4 Country Care, you are giving back to rural communities, providing accommodation support to enable guests to access lifesaving medical services.

HOW DOES YOUR DONATION HELP?

As a not-for-profit charity every dollar donated benefits the guests accessing our accommodation services. The charity has never received a government grant, relying solely on the generosity of public donations.

The overheads to run the cottages (electricity, gas, water etc.) are approximately $1100 per cottage, per month. Due to the demand for our accommodation services, we have expanded the charity to include 6 cottages, with total overheads rising to over $12,200 per month!
