I’m Sarah, Karen’s niece. For those of you that don’t know me, I’m sorry. For those of you that do, I’m not sorry. As most of you probably know my amazing wonderful beautiful aunt was diagnosed with ALS. It is an ugly, unforgiving, digenerating disease. Unfortunately it seems to be progressing quickly and we are doing our best as a family to support her during this journey. So that’s where you can come in (hopefully). Since Karen was a teacher she doesn’t qualify for social security so she has been funding her own care, along with my grandparents and mothers help. The van rentals alone are 120 to 180 dollars each time she has to go to the doctor. We are trying to raise some money to help with the costs of van rentals, caretakers, supplies, etc. Any help is greatly appreciated. Also please pray that Karen forgives me for doing this because she is not going to be happy haha From Mom/ Cathy – Okay folks. Like Sarah said, she’s going to kill is but the van rentals for Dr appointments and caregiving are monumental. Karen was diagnosed with ALS in May and we’ve already spent around $50 thousand out of pocket. We had many folks ask how they can help. Well this is it.
