On February 16, 2022, my world turned upside down. At just 34 years old, I was diagnosed with Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. The cancer had already spread to my liver and bones. It was devastating news—news no one ever expects to hear. But in that moment, I knew I had only one option: to fight. To fight for my husband, for my two beautiful girls, and for the family and friends who continue to lift me up with love and support. These past few years have been an uphill battle filled with countless doctor appointments, hospital stays, treatments, and the added challenge of managing an autoimmune disease on top of everything else. Despite all of this, I’ve done my best to stay strong for my family. One of the hardest sacrifices I’ve had to make was stepping away from my dream job as a teacher last October. Teaching was not only a career—it was a calling I deeply loved. But my health and the never-ending medical needs made it impossible to continue. Now, with only one income to rely on, the financial strain has become overwhelming. Every month brings the weight of a mortgage, medical bills, groceries, and everyday expenses that don’t stop, no matter how hard we fight. The burden is heavy, and it’s getting harder to carry while trying to focus on what truly matters—my health and precious time with my family.
