Story

This sad story of my mother, Martha, started 2 years ago when we found out she had a head tumor. Unfortunately, there were no options for her where she lived, so she had to move to a bigger city. She had the tumor removed and then a long recovery period started. She spent 7 months out of town between tests, surgery, and intense physical therapy. After that, she returned home and she had a few months of overall good health, but then she started falling, losing balance, and that had serious consequences on her brain performance. She has been going downhill since October with a broken shoulder in between. She started deteriorating even more after that. She has hit a high point of convulsions, making her be put in an induced coma to help with the brain swelling.

This is very heartbreaking because my mom loves life and had so many plans. She is 79 years old and was very healthy her entire life until this moment. It is devastating.

It is also very painful to see her in this agony.

All our savings have been exhausted over these 2 years. We don’t know what to expect with her health anymore, and bills continue coming. So, I had no more choice than to seek help from the community to overcome the medical expenses. She needs 24/7 assistance.
