Help Baby Mia Get the Lifesaving Treatment she so desperately needs. Hi, my name is Bianca, and I’m the proud auntie of my twin sister Daniella’s two beautiful children Dominick (6) and our sweet Mia, who is just 21 months old. I’m reaching out with a heart full of hope, and a mother’s love that’s been tested in every way imaginable. Mia’s Journey Mia has been fighting medical battles since she was just a newborn. At only 2 months old, she underwent major craniosynostosis surgery — a procedure that required her to wear a helmet for 8 months during recovery. That alone would be a lot for any family, but for Mia, it was just the beginning. A routine scan soon after revealed something no one was prepared for — a 3cm aneurysm on her right iliac artery. During emergency surgery to repair it, doctors discovered six more aneurysms. Despite extensive genetic testing, we still don’t have answers for why this is happening. Mia has been diagnosed with renal artery stenosis and is missing her carotid artery a rare and terrifying condition. Today, we’re facing the hardest chapter yet: the aneurysms have now spread into both of her kidneys, and she will soon need both kidneys removed. The Fight Ahead My sister Daniella is currently undergoing testing to be a potential kidney donor for Mia and if necessary, I will be tested as well. We are praying every day that one of us is a match. But even if we are, it means major surgery and recovery while continuing to care for Mia throughout her transplant journey. Why We Need Your Help Daniella is now navigating this as a single mother juggling Mia’s critical care with raising Dominick, working, and constantly traveling between Boston Children’s Hospital and Cohen’s Children’s Hospital. The emotional, physical, and financial toll is overwhelming. We’ve been told that after her transplant, Mia will need to be hospitalized in Boston for 2–3 weeks, followed by outpatient monitoring. This means temporarily relocating to Boston, while trying to maintain stability for Dominick at home in New York. Your support will help cover: • Travel and lodging between New York and Boston • Temporary relocation costs during Mia’s treatment • Lost wages if Daniella is Mia’s donor • Childcare and support for Dominick • Ongoing medical expenses and post-op care Who Mia Is Despite everything she’s facing, Mia is the happiest baby you’ll ever meet — full of sweetness, curiosity, and light. You would never guess the battle happening inside her tiny body. She’s thriving, learning, and growing beautifully. Her favorite person in the world is her big brother, Dominick. Watching their bond is what keeps Daniella going. How You Can Help If you’re able to donate, no matter how small, it will make a life-changing difference. And if you can’t give right now, please consider sharing Mia’s story with others. Every prayer, share, and donation counts. This journey is far from over, but we know we’re not alone. We believe in the power of community, faith, and love and most of all, we believe in Mia. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your kindness, support, and prayers. With love, Bianca (on behalf of Daniella and our family)
