Stronger Than the Odds — One More Mountain Help Kim Fight Through Her Toughest Battle Yet My name is Chantal, and I’m Kim’s sister-in-law. Over the years, our bond has grown far beyond family titles — she’s become one of my closest friends. I’ve watched her face life with grace, humor, and endless love, and now I want to do everything I can to support her and my brother during this chapter. Organizing this fundraiser is my way of rallying the community that loves them so much. For three years, Kim has been fighting an unimaginable battle — first with aggressive bone cancer, then with life-threatening heart failure, and now with the aftermath of massive surgeries that have taken half her pelvis. Doctors once told her to “get her affairs in order,” but Kim has defied the odds at every turn — surviving six rounds of chemo, radiation, her heart stopping mid-drive (saved by her LifeVest), and two grueling surgeries this February that have left her cancer-free for the first time in years. Now, Kim faces her biggest challenge yet. On August 20th, she will undergo pelvis reconstruction, and just one week later, an above-the-knee amputation — the only option left to save her life. Through it all, her husband Andre has been her anchor — leaving his job to be her full-time caregiver, sleeping in hospital chairs for weeks, and attending every appointment by her side. But this fight has drained their savings and left them with mounting medical bills.
