On June 20, 2025, I was diagnosed with Stage 1B Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. After many scans and X-rays, doctors discovered a suspicious spot on my sacrum (S2). On August 20, 2025, I received the heartbreaking news that the cancer had metastasized to my sacrum, changing my diagnosis to Stage 4 Metastatic Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. I have been a proud dental hygienist for almost a decade, and my profession has truly been one of the greatest parts of my life. Beyond caring for patients, I’ve had the privilege of serving in leadership roles at both the state and national levels of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association. Advocating for my profession, mentoring others, and giving back through volunteer service has given me so much purpose and fulfillment. Alongside my professional life, I have also proudly served as a military spouse for nearly 15 years. Through countless moves, deployments, and volunteer leadership roles within military family support groups, I’ve learned the values of resilience, strength, and community. Those lessons are now carrying me through this unexpected and difficult battle. My greatest joy, however, is being a wife and mom. My son is a dedicated football player for Wamego High School, and I love cheering him on. My daughter is full of energy and determination as a gymnast and watching her grow in her sport inspires me daily. Supporting them in their passions and being present in their lives is what I hold closest to my heart. As I begin chemotherapy, the toll on my body is forcing me to step back from work. As the breadwinner for my family, this is one of the hardest sacrifices I’ve ever had to make. My husband stays home to care for our kids, and without my income, we are facing significant financial strain. This GoFundMe has been created to help cover living expenses, medical costs, and the everyday needs of our family during this time. Any amount of support, whether through donations, prayers, or words of encouragement, will make a tremendous difference in our lives.
