The Lord has called us to rally around our nephew Philip and the Skoch family. Baby Philip was born with a rare and complex heart condition called Tetralogy of Fallot with Pulmonary Atresia, VSD, and MAPCAs. In short, his heart was not formed in the typical way, and it has to work much harder to keep him alive. On October 29, 2025, Philip will undergo open-heart surgery at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford in California. This surgery, otherwise known as unifocalization, is long and risky, but will be performed by the pioneering surgeon of the specific procedure that Philip’s heart requires. The procedure has been used over the past 20+ years, and offers the opportunity for a child (like Philip) with a 1% chance of survival to come away from surgery with a 99% survival rate. You can read more about Stanford’s Pulmonary Artery Reconstruction Program here: https://www.stanfordchildrens.org/en/services/pulmonary-artery-reconstruction.html Over the last few months, Nicole and Thomas Skoch have dedicated much of their time making arrangements for over 35 days of travel, lodging, childcare, and many other hospital-related expenses. It is our goal to ease their burden, allowing them to focus on Philip and aid in his healing journey. If you are able, any gift—big or small—would be fundamental in allowing Thomas, Nicole, and the rest of their family to be present with Philip during surgery and recovery. If you are not able to donate, we ask that you share this page and keep Philip in your prayers! If you would like to follow along with Philip’s journey from the days leading up to surgery, through the operation, and into recovery, we will be sharing updates! Thank you for joining us on this journey! With love and gratitude, Hayden and Ilani Dalton
