Product Description
My name is Cameron Marcotte. On Sunday, August 24th, 2025, my mother, Debra Marcotte, was involved in a serious motor vehicle accident while she was exiting the highway in Wells, Maine. Her car ended up on its roof on the wood line, and she was trapped in the car for a brief time. Thankfully, some good Samaritans stopped, called 911, and rendered aid until first responders arrived to help my mother. It took firefighters about 25 minutes to get her out of the car, and she was then transported by ambulance to Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine, arriving as a level 1 trauma. She was quickly taken back to the OR for emergency surgery. Over the next few days, she would endure two more surgeries to repair some severe injuries. After 2 days of being sedated and on a ventilator, she was able to wake up and have her breathing tube removed. She has now been awake for several days and is doing well, all things considered. She still has a long, painful road ahead of her to recover, which will likely require staying a few weeks in the hospital and then going to a rehabilitation facility before going home. During a head CT, they also discovered a large meningioma on top of her brain. The recommendation from the neurosurgeon is to remove this after she recovers from the injuries she sustained in the accident. She will likely be out of work for some time and still has some bills to pay, and it is unknown at this time how much expenses she will have during her recovery. My mother has always been a kind and giving person and would give the shirt off her back to help others. She is never someone to ask for help. One of her number one goals is to get well again to be able to play with her granddaughter and to be able to get well enough to go back to her job as a teacher, as teaching children brings her immense joy. Anything would help and would be much appreciated. Thank you for your time.
